I don’t really go shopping, but I can’t resist a good Memorial Day Weekend book sale.

On Monday, I went to Barnes and Noble where I spent most of my time at the Women’s Studies section…obviously. I ended up purchasing “Headscarves and Hymens: Why The Middle East Needs a Sexual Revolution” by Mona Eltahawy, “Bad Feminist” by Roxane Gay and “The Bluest Eye” by Toni Morrison.

Since Middle Eastern feminism has been on my mind lately, I’ve already begun “Headscarves and Hymens.”

Have any of you read these books? If so, let me know what you think!

  1. I follow Roxane Gay on Twitter, and have been wanting to read Bad Feminist! The only Toni Morrison I’ve read is Paradise which was A+++, so I’m sure you’ll enjoy The Bluest Eye.
